Das Seminar trägt den Titel „Who Will Build the Ark? The Urban Imagination in an Age of Catastrophic Convergence“.

International Journal of Technology Enhanced Learning (IJTEL)

http://www.inderscience.com/browse/index.php?journalCODE=ijtel

Call for papers

    • Introduction **

Technology Enhanced Learning is undergoing a significant shift in paradigm towards more collaborative and self-directed personalized learning experiences. Instead of addressing the needs of groups of learners in a uniform way, new approaches emerge that are tailored to the individual learner and her situation, and empower and support her to engage in collaborative learning scenarios. In parallel, thanks to the progress in learning technology interoperability, learning resources are no longer locked in proprietary solutions and become easier to find and exchange. This trend is reinforced by the use of social information, an expansion of the personal social network for informal learning, new settings as in exploratory environments, new approaches as in story-telling and educational games. Based on the outcomes of the 9 workshops of the 3rd European Conference on Technology Enhanced Learning (EC-TEL 2008), this special issue aims at giving an overview of achievements in TEL that clearly demonstrate the above mentioned paradigm shift . The themes in this issue are expected to look onward beyond recent achievements to discuss specific topics, emerging research issues, new trends and endeavors in TEL. Most naturally, we are looking for research work not previously published that addresses and extends today’s results.

    • Indicative list of topics **

The main topics of interest address new and emerging developments in the area of TEL: - Participatory approaches in enterprises that enable enhanced collaboration and a culture of employee participation in terms of individual and organizational learning - Learning environments bringing together informal and formal learning experiences by considering the social and organizational context - Learning in exploratory environments to enable learners to create their own solutions to problems - Employing social information retrieval technology to unlock the knowledge and/or experience of other learners - Individual and group adaptation in collaborative learning environments - Technologies for improved support for finding and exchanging learning material - Story-telling and educational games for technology enhanced learning

    • Submission **

Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. All papers are refereed through a double blind process. In general, the original typescript should be submitted electronically in A4 size format, with a word count of 5000-7000 (excluding figures). Submissions should follow the guidelines stated at: http://www.inderscience.com/mapper.php?id=31 Please submit your paper to the guest editor Martin Wolpers by email: martin.wolpers@fit.fraunhofer.de

    • Important Dates **

Submission of articles: January 23, 2009 Notification to authors: February 20, 2009 Publication date (forseen): April/May 2009 All questions regarding submissions should be directed to the Guest Editor Martin Wolpers (martin.wolpers@fit.fraunhofer.de, Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, Germany)

Themenschwerpunkt Web 2.0 in Contraste im April 2009

.

Vom 24.-26.
