Her love of animals began early. Rabbits, mice, and even a hedgehog were not merely pets, but companions who sparked endless curiosity. She and her brother sneaked a rotating cast of pets into their nursery, including snakes, salamanders, lizards, rabbits, frogs, and a fat hedgehog. As a young adult, she invented narratives about her pets, filling her letters to the children of friends with their adventures. In 1901, Potter self-published the first edition of “The Tale of Peter Rabbit.” It was an instant hit, selling out multiple editions. Potter believed that her first books found an audience because they were written for real children. “It is much more satisfactory to address a real live child,” she wrote. “I often think that that was the secret of the success of Peter Rabbit, it was written to a child—not made to order.” Read about the beloved author’s life and art: http://nyer.cm/iZkm9kL</ins></div></td></tr> <tr><td colspan="2">&nbsp;</td><td class='diff-marker'>+</td><td style="background: #cfc; color:black; font-size: smaller;"><div><ins style="color: red; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;"></ins></div></td></tr> <tr><td colspan="2">&nbsp;</td><td class='diff-marker'>+</td><td style="background: #cfc; color:black; font-size: smaller;"><div><ins style="color: red; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">011022 via fb</ins></div></td></tr> </table> Wiki http://wiki.aki-stuttgart.de/mediawiki/index.php?title=Beatrix_Potter&diff=61313&oldid=prev Wiki: == * 28.07.1866 - 22.12.1943== ==beatrix-potter-a-life-in-nature== https://www.brainpickings.org/2015/07/28/beatrix-potter-a-life-in-nature-botany-mycology-fungi schöner artikel mit super fotos 2020-11-25T10:50:04Z <p>== * 28.07.1866 - 22.12.1943== ==beatrix-potter-a-life-in-nature== https://www.brainpickings.org/2015/07/28/beatrix-potter-a-life-in-nature-botany-mycology-fungi schöner artikel mit super fotos</p> <table style="background-color: white; color:black;"> <col class='diff-marker' /> <col class='diff-content' /> <col class='diff-marker' /> <col class='diff-content' /> <tr valign='top'> <td colspan='2' style="background-color: white; color:black;">← Nächstältere Version</td> <td colspan='2' style="background-color: white; color:black;">Version vom 25. Werke von so unterschiedlichen Künstler*innen wie Higuchi Akihiro (*1969), Yokoo Tadanori (*1936) und Horst Janssen (1929–1995) zeigen, wie berühmte japanische Farbholzschnitte und Malereien bis heute künstlerische Schaffensprozesse prägen.</ins></div></td></tr> <tr><td colspan="2">&nbsp;</td><td class='diff-marker'>+</td><td style="background: #cfc; color:black; font-size: smaller;"><div><ins style="color: red; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;"></ins></div></td></tr> <tr><td colspan="2">&nbsp;</td><td class='diff-marker'>+</td><td style="background: #cfc; color:black; font-size: smaller;"><div><ins style="color: red; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Eine Ausstellung im Rahmen des von der Zeit-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius geförderten Projektes zur wissenschaftlichen Erschließung der Sammlung Ostasien.</ins></div></td></tr> <tr><td colspan="2">&nbsp;</td><td class='diff-marker'>+</td><td style="background: #cfc; color:black; font-size: smaller;"><div><ins style="color: red; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;"></ins></div></td></tr> <tr><td colspan="2">&nbsp;</td><td class='diff-marker'>+</td><td style="background: #cfc; color:black; font-size: smaller;"><div><ins style="color: red; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;"></ins></div></td></tr> <tr><td colspan="2">&nbsp;</td><td class='diff-marker'>+</td><td style="background: #cfc; color:black; font-size: smaller;"><div><ins style="color: red; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Katsushika Hokusai (1760–1849), Unter der Welle vor Kanagawa (aus der Serie Die 36 Ansichten des Berges Fuji), 1830–31, Farbholzschnitt, Farbe auf Papier, 25 x 37,3 cm, MKG, Public Domain</ins></div></td></tr> <tr><td colspan="2">&nbsp;</td><td class='diff-marker'>+</td><td style="background: #cfc; color:black; font-size: smaller;"><div><ins style="color: red; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;"></ins></div></td></tr> <tr><td colspan="2">&nbsp;</td><td class='diff-marker'>+</td><td style="background: #cfc; color:black; font-size: smaller;"><div><ins style="color: red; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">2807 via site</ins></div></td></tr> <tr><td colspan="2">&nbsp;</td><td class='diff-marker'>+</td><td style="background: #cfc; color:black; font-size: smaller;"><div><ins style="color: red; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">https://www.mkg-hamburg.de/de/ausstellungen/aktuell/copy-paste.html</ins></div></td></tr> </table> Wiki http://wiki.aki-stuttgart.de/mediawiki/index.php?title=Beatrix_Potter&diff=60621&oldid=prev Wiki: ==Beatrix Potter, the beloved English author and illustrator of “The Tale of Peter Rabbit" == and many similar animal books -- pictured here with a real-life "Peter Rabbit" -- was born on this day in 2020-07-28T14:30:02Z <p>==Beatrix Potter, the beloved English author and illustrator of “The Tale of Peter Rabbit&quot; == and many similar animal books -- pictured here with a real-life &quot;Peter Rabbit&quot; -- was born on this day in</p> <table style="background-color: white; color:black;"> <col class='diff-marker' /> <col class='diff-content' /> <col class='diff-marker' /> <col class='diff-content' /> <tr valign='top'> <td colspan='2' style="background-color: white; color:black;">← Nächstältere Version</td> <td colspan='2' style="background-color: white; color:black;">Version vom 28. Her paper was presented at a meeting of the Linnean Society in 1897 by a mycologist from the Royal Botanic Gardens, because women of the time were not permitted to attend the meetings. Upon her death in 1943, Potter, a dedicated conservationist, bequeathed sixteen farms and over 4,000 acres of land to the National Trust, enabling significant preservation of the lands that created the Lake District National Park.
