Am Internetauftritt der Stadtverwaltung Esslingen wurden diese Techniken erprobt. Unter anderem wurden Nutzertests durchgeführt: Testpersonen erhielten konkrete Aufgabenstellungen, bei deren Lösung sie beobachtet und befragt wurden. Mit Hilfe der Eyetracking-Methode wurden die Blickbewegungen der Testperson auf dem Bildschirm dokumentiert. Im Rahmen eines städtischen Editorentreffens am 21. Juni erläuterten sie die kritischen Bereiche und lieferten dazu direkte Verbesserungsvorschläge.
