Dabei birgt das Netz selbst eine Lösung, um das ursprüngliche Versprechen der Freiheit zu bewahren: die nicht-kommerzielle digitale Gegenwelt, wie sie der Autor Stefan Mey in seinem Buch „Der Kampf um das Internet“ beschreibt. Zu ihr zählen Wikipedia, die Twitter-Alternative Mastodon oder auch Firefox und Signal. Auf Einladung von Wikimedia Deutschland diskutieren am 11. März Stefan Mey, die Publizistin und Netzaktivistin Katharina Nocun und der Bundestagsabgeordnete Konstantin von Notz darüber, wie wir diese Gegenwelt sichern und weiter stärken können.
