Das DZOK hat die Rechtsform eines Vereins mit 400 Mitgliedern. Die von Haupt- und Ehrenamtlichen geleistete Arbeit wird von der Stadt Ulm, den regionalen Gebietskörperschaften sowie vom Land Baden-Württemberg unterstützt.
