Isaacs untersucht und fördert in vielen Projekten die Fähigkeit zum Dialog. Dabei untersucht er die Probleme beim Dialog und Voraussetzungen, damit Dialog gelingt. In seiner Denkweise bezieht er sich auf Christopher Alexander und versucht eine ähnliche Denkweise, auch mit dem Bezug auf "Lebendigkeit", "Ganzheitlichkeit" und der Suche nach "Patterns des Dialogs".

Ein wichtiger Begriff bei Isaacs ist der CONTAINER, gewissermaßen der Behälter, der Ort bzw. die Atmosphäre für einen Dialog. Dieses Umfeld ist sehr wichtig. Oft werden Workshops abseits des Arbeitsumfeldes gemacht, um Ruhe zu haben und ein anderes Miteinander zu ermöglichen. Somit ist es wahrscheinlich auch sinnvoll, das Wiki als einen "container for dialogue", als einen "Ort des Dialogs" zu verstehen.
