Die „taz“ prophezeit das Ende der Buchpreisbindung
Nachdem der Europäische Gerichtshof (EuGH) entschieden hat, dass EU-Staaten nicht mehr im Alleingang die Mehrwertsteuer für E-Book reduzieren dürfen, prophezeit die „taz“ das Ende der Preisbindung. „Eine verringerte Mehrwertsteuer kommt nicht in Frage, ein Buch sei schließlich aus Papier. Mit diesem Argument kann auch die Preisbindung fallen“, schreibt Autor Jörg Sundermeier. Der EuGH habe mit seinem Urtel indirekt auch die Frage aufgeworfen, inwieweit das E-Book überhaupt ein Buch sei. „Wenn es aber kein Buch ist, dann wäre die Preisbindung, die in Deutschland auch für E-Books gilt, grundsätzlich infrage zu stellen.“ Sundermeier erwartet weitere Klagen von jenen, die schon seit Jahren die Buchpreisbindung abschaffen wollen.
