Die Sammlung umfasst circa 60.000 originale Dokumente vom 9. Jh. bis zum Ausbruch des Ersten Weltkriegs 1914 und beinhaltet Autographen, Handschriften, Urkunden, Drucke, Stammbücher, Nachlässe und eine Sammlung historischer Landkarten.
